Romina Batino’s creative spin
In November 2021, Romina submitted her photographs to a gallery in Ohio, which unexpectedly accepted all of her pieces. Encouraged, she continued participating in juried and non-juried shows. Her art gained significant recognition when Boomer Gallery in London invited her to become a resident artist, displaying her Roamistry works for a full year.
Roamistry: Awash with beauty
A graduate of Communication Arts, Romina Batino first worked in her family’s legal practice in the mid-1990s. In an effort to express a creative spark she’d always known was there, she started a small company and founded 10 Twelve Ventures in 2019, holding weekend workshops to foster a community of lifelong creative learners while she continued her managerial work.
‘Black and White on Park’ returns
The third “Black and White on Park” show opens Saturday at downtown Warren’s Art on Park building. The show was created by James Shuttic, director of the Fine Arts Council of Trumbull County, to challenge artists and encourage artists to give more consideration to aspects such as composition in their creations.

Batino and Castrillo come to the fore at Gateway Gallery THE EXHIBIT “Coming to Fore” presents the works of Romina Batino-Stiffler and Mierro Castrillo. Featuring Ms. Batino’s photography and Mr. Castrillo’s sculptures, the exhibit is ongoing until March 31 at the Gateway Gallery in Araneta City, Cubao, Quezon City. Ms. Batino is a contemporary digital artist who splits her time between Makati in the Philippines and Ohio in the USA. Her photographs capture the hidden splendor of everyday life — raindrops on the moonroof of a car, a dry leaf on the ground, the sun’s reflection on a dewy morning window, and the flow of water. Mierro Castrillo is the eldest son of the legendary Filipino sculptor Eduardo S. Castrillo. He took up sculpture after his father died in 2016, and he has since honed his skills. His sculptures depict everyday but very personal objects — a rooster, a bicycle, a horse — transformed with his father’s legacy in mind.
